Happy couple eating dinner together, planning a walk after dinner. FLASS, The Florida Lung, Asthma and Sleep Specialists send you warm-hearted Thanksgiving wishes and gratitude for your support and friendship all year long.

We know you will be having a sumptuous Thanksgiving family feast at dinner, and we are not going to give you a dozen last minute dieting tips!   We are going to give you  two brief but wonderful suggestions for your healthy heart and lungs over the coming Holiday:

1.  Before The Feast:  Show Your Lungs Some Thanks!

In the morning we suggest a brisk little walk while you organize the final lists of Thanksgiving Day chores, welcomes, food preparations or packing a trip. Your lungs will love it!

Plus, your stress level will reduce. You also require a breakfast on Thanksgiving. Starving your system with the idea of saving calories up for the big meal is a fallacy that causes you to over-eat.

2.  A Little While After Dinner:  Let’s Get Physical!

A little while after the meal, find some time to participate in a family walk or bike ride. These are such good activities to for your lungs, your life and breath.

Doing something physical instead like a sport, a game or a walk at this time instead of just sitting can pump life into your lungs and heart. Although we promised not to mention it, the activity might  even reduce a few calories.

An added benefit of this shared family walk is that the  time spent together is beneficial to your relationships. Although we highly recommend any physical game or activity that promotes some good strong, deep breathing, walking is a simple activity that can be enjoyed at all ages, and still bring time to converse and visit.

Here in Orlando, right now is a perfect time to enjoy walking our parks and lakeside areas.

Again, the staff and the doctors here at Florida Lung, Asthma and Sleep Specialists, in Orlando, Florida, offer you finest of Thanksgiving wishes. As is often our custom, we found a thought-provoking Thanksgiving quote to share with you, our friends, patients, and blog readers:

“Happiness is the realization of God in the heart. Happiness is the result of praise and thanksgiving, of faith, of acceptance; a quiet tranquil realization of the love of God.” – White Eagle

Happy Thanksgiving to You and Your Families From FLASS, where we treat you like family!
