The doctors and staff of the Florida Lung, Asthma and Sleep Specialists are blessed to receive many thank you notes and expressions of gratitude from patients. Many of their stories have been published on the main testimonials page of this Web Site.

We were very touched and honored with a recent story included in one of our patient’s thank you notes for Dr. Fred Umeh,M.D. Although you can view it on the testimonial pages, we decided to share it also with readers here on the blog.

Dear Dr. Umeh,

I was under your care over Thanksgiving weekend, for pneumonia (the patient without the spleen) at Celebration Hospital, and I feel I owe you more than just a “thank you” spoken the day I was discharged.

After having been treated by a Doctor who showed little to no compassion or concern for my well-being, you were a welcome sight. You are, what I believe, people what doctors to be…caring, compassionate, generous with your time, thorough in your explanations, not to mention your knowledge and experience in treating your patients.

Myself and my family very much appreciate your attention to my illness and the treatment you prescribed which got me back on my feet and allowed me to enjoy the rest of my vacation with my family.

If I am ever admitted to a hospital again, I can only hope to receive treatment from a Doctor as wonderful as you…I wish others would take lessons in “bedside manner” from you.

Very fondly,

Lori Devir-Carroll

We are very proud to have Dr. Fred Umeh in our Florida-based Lung Doctors Group. The above letter obviously demonstrates that he is a man who believes in our mission for providing our patients with “thorough and compassionate care.”
