In recent months, visitors to Florida Lung, Asthma and Sleep Specialists might have noticed a new face among our physicians. We would bet that new face belongs to none other than Dr. Nelson Medina Villanueva MD, who joined FLASS late this past fall.
It is our custom to write a welcoming blog to new doctors who join the practice. So this week our blog features Dr. Villanueva who recently relocated from Miami to the Orlando area.
His career as a physician began with Medical School at the Universidad Ibero-Americana School of Medicine in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic.
He took his internship HIMA at San Pablo Hospital, and then served his residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital, part of Atlantic Health, in New Jersey. Later, Dr. Villanueva accomplished a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the Newark Beth Israel, in Newark, New Jersey.
Dr. Villanueva comes to us with board certifications in Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. Both pulmonary disease and internal medicine have additionally been his official specialties, and he is certified in both areas.
