2014 has arrived!

The doctors and staff of the Lung, Asthma and Sleep Center hope all of our patients, friends, families and referring physicians will enjoy safety, health and prosperity for the entire New Year.

Our good wishes are not just confined to the holidays, but we wish you wellness and good breathing throughout the year.

We just got big news! According to the journal Annals Of Internal Medicine, published on this Dec. 30, 2013 ended on a high note for lung research. They announced:

“It’s official: Annual low-dose CT screening for lung cancer is recommended for high-risk individuals, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) announced.

This is only a step in the right direction. As 2014 unfolds, we will have to see if a practical program of lung cancer screening can be implemented.

These lung screening  programs have been developing across the country and now the support of the USPSTF recommendati9on should boost screening programs everywhere. The Affordable Care Act does mandate that this be covered without co-pay and Medicare won’t be required to cover the CT scans.
